More Deep Thinking

Go and read this right now.  I would like to point out that this idea was briefly touched upon in ‘Future Shock‘, in 1970.

Thanks to Warren Ellis for the link.

One Response to “More Deep Thinking”

  1. Two thoughts:

    1) Glenn Gould SO predicted this. Naturally his predictions were limited both by his art form and the technology available at the time. Still he talked and wrote about a time when the audience would be able to technologically alter recordings and take back, or share, control of the art with the performer.

    2) Isn’t it ironic that while the audience is all important in the creation of the art/entertainment the copyright laws and corporations are pushing the power and importance of the author more than ever. The audience is necessary to create the new art, but it had better not dare to believe that gives it some kind of ownership.
